  • E.T. Full Moon Midnight Marathon, 1/2, & 10K

August 16-17, 2008. Midnight races! Extraterrestrial Highway; Rachel, NV (2- 2.5 hours from Las Vegas)

Running along the fringe of the mysterious Area 51, this stretch of highway (375) has an overwhelming number of reported UFO sightings. So much so, that in 1996 the federal government officially named highway 375 the "Extraterrestrial Highway". The ET Highway has become a gathering place for UFO enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. With elevations ranging from roughly 4000-5600 feet, the high desert will enchant you with gorgeous vegetation, surrounding mountains, and stunning vistas. An additional treat is the cooler temperatures. Rachel, NV is generally 15 degrees cooler than the Las Vegas Valley; coupled with a midnight run, temperatures should be in the 60's in August!

  • Rock the Rock 1/2 Marathon at Red Rock Canyon

October 5, 2008 (Sunday) ~ Red Rock Canyon, Las Vegas, NV

(Opposite direction as the March event)

A favorite destination to appreciate nature's majestic red rock color country, Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area is a popular place to run. When you tell someone you're running Red Rock, the common question to follow is "Which way do you go?" and I reply "I go both ways- on the scenic loop that is!" Runners debate which direction is harder- running with the flow of traffic and tackling the hills steep and early, or running it in reverse and climbing more gradually with a screaming downhill finish. Come run both the March and October events and see for yourself!

A 1/2 Marathon event all on its own! And if you're training for a late fall marathon, a tough 1/2 marathon during training is the perfect tool to help prepare you to tackel 26.2.

  • RECYCLED!

  • Running from an Angel Marathon,1/2,10K,5K&50 miler

January 3, 2009; Lake Mead N.R.A., outside of Las Vegas, Nevada

Run amid the stunning scenery and vegetation of Lake Mead N.R.A the winter desert will treat runners to a magical experience. Blue skies and perfect temperatures will enchant you as you traverse continual rolling terrain alongside the azure blue waters of Lake Mead.

The sister event to Running with the Devil, the Running from an Angel races are the exact same courses as the Devil series. Together, these sister events are designed to offer athletes an opportunity to see exactly the difference in time running in the heat causes (all things held constant- I am not responsible for holiday pigging out!) Running with the Devil races in the middle of the summer, in the middle of the day to fully get the effect of running in extreme heat. Conversely, Running from an Angel runs in the winter in much milder, even cold temperatures. Many studies have been done to determine the exact effects of heat training. Run the double and find out for yourself, or run either one on its own.

    chill%20logo%202.bmp

June 27, 2009; Lake Mead N.R.A. outside of Las Vegas, Nevada

Most race organizers go to great lengths to ensure their races are held in ideal running conditions; 40 degrees, light breeze, overcast. Many aim to make their courses flat and fast, or even downhill to facilitate runners to smash their PR. Not this one! Held in summer in the middle of the day thru the dry Mohave Desert, athletes will be challenged to contend with extreme heat and unrelenting rolling hills as they traverse this spectacularly scenic course.
